In basketball, “RPG” stands for Rebounds Per Game. It is a statistic used to measure the average number of rebounds a player grabs per game over a season or a specific period. Rebounds are critical in basketball, as they give teams extra possessions by securing missed shots.
RPG can be broken down into two types:
1. Offensive Rebounds (OREB): Rebounds grabbed from a missed shot on the player’s own team.
2. Defensive Rebounds (DREB): Rebounds grabbed from a missed shot by the opposing team.
