what is pf in basketball stats
In basketball statistics, “PF” stands for “Personal Fouls.” A personal foul occurs when a player makes illegal physical contact with an opponent. Personal fouls are recorded during the game and contribute to a player’s total foul count. Depending on the type of foul and the situation (e.g., whether it’s a shooting foul or not), the opposing player may be awarded free throws.
In many leagues, a player who accumulates a certain number of personal fouls (usually six in the NBA) in a game may be disqualified and forced to leave the game.
