Deleting apps on a Chromebook is a straightforward process that can help you manage your device’s storage and keep your desktop clutter-free. Whether you’ve installed an app by mistake or simply want to remove an app that you no longer use, this guide will walk you through the steps to delete apps off your Chromebook.

1. Launch the Chrome Web Store

To begin, open the Chrome Web Store on your Chromebook. You can do this by clicking on the Chrome icon in the shelf (the row of icons at the bottom of the screen) and selecting “Web Store” from the menu that appears.

2. Access Your Library

Once the Chrome Web Store is open, click on the three horizontal lines in the upper-left corner of the window to access the menu. From the menu, select “Library” to view all the apps you have installed on your Chromebook.

3. Find the App You Want to Delete

Scroll through the list of apps in your library to find the one you want to delete. You can also use the search bar at the top of the library to quickly locate the app by name.

4. Delete the App

When you’ve found the app you want to delete, click on the app’s name to open its details page. On the details page, you’ll see an option to “Remove from Chrome.” Click on this option to delete the app from your Chromebook.

5. Confirm the Deletion

A confirmation dialog will appear asking if you’re sure you want to remove the app. Click “Remove” to confirm and delete the app from your Chromebook.

6. Optional: Delete the App from the Chrome OS Files

If you want to remove the app’s files from your Chromebook’s storage, you can do so by navigating to the “Files” app. Open the “Files” app, click on the “Apps” folder, and then find the app you just deleted. Right-click on the app and select “Delete” to remove the app’s files from your Chromebook.

Following these simple steps, you can easily delete apps off your Chromebook and keep your device running smoothly. Remember, regularly deleting unused apps can help you free up storage space and improve your Chromebook’s performance.
