How to Delete iPhone Apps Permanently

Are you looking to free up some space on your iPhone by deleting apps permanently? Deleting apps from your iPhone is a straightforward process, but sometimes, the app might still be lingering in the background, taking up valuable storage. In this article, we will guide you through the steps to delete iPhone apps permanently, ensuring that they are completely removed from your device.

Step 1: Locate the App

The first step in deleting an app permanently is to locate it on your iPhone. Open the “App Library” by swiping up from the bottom of the screen on an iPhone 8 or earlier, or by swiping down from the top-right corner of the screen on an iPhone X or later. Once in the App Library, scroll through the list of apps to find the one you want to delete.

Step 2: Delete the App

Once you have found the app you want to delete, tap and hold on the app icon until it starts to wiggle. You will see a small “X” appear on the top-left corner of the app icon. Tap the “X” to delete the app. If you are using an iPhone with iOS 13 or later, you can also swipe left on the app icon and then tap “Delete” to remove the app.

Step 3: Confirm Deletion

After tapping the “X” or selecting “Delete,” a confirmation message will appear. Tap “Delete App” to confirm that you want to remove the app permanently. The app will be deleted from your iPhone, and you will see a “Deleted” message next to the app’s icon in the App Library.

Step 4: Check for App Data

While the app has been deleted from your iPhone, it’s essential to check for any remaining app data. Some apps might still store data in the background, even after being deleted. To ensure that all data is removed, go to “Settings” > “General” > “iPhone Storage.” Scroll down and tap on the app you deleted. Then, tap “Offload App” to remove the app and its data from your iPhone.

Step 5: Empty the Trash

If you have deleted multiple apps, it’s a good idea to empty the Trash to ensure that they are completely removed from your iPhone. To do this, go to “Settings” > “General” > “iPhone Storage” > “Manage Storage.” Tap “Trash” and then tap “Delete All” to remove all apps from the Trash.

By following these steps, you can delete iPhone apps permanently and free up valuable storage space on your device. Remember to regularly check your iPhone’s storage and delete unused apps to keep your device running smoothly.
