How to Record Camera Separately in OBS

Recording camera separately in OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) can be a challenging task, especially for beginners. Firstly, ensure that you have OBS installed on your computer. Once you have OBS up and running, follow these steps to record camera separately:

1. Open OBS and Set Up Your Scene: Launch OBS and create a new scene by clicking on the “+” button under the “Sources” panel. Name your scene accordingly.

2. Add Camera Source: To add your camera as a source, click on the “+” button under the “Sources” panel and select “Video Capture Device”. Choose your camera from the list of available devices and click “OK”.

5. Add Camera Source to Second Scene: Repeat step 2 for the second scene. This time, you will be adding the same camera source to the new scene. This ensures that both scenes have the same camera source.

6. Configure Second Scene: Right-click on the camera source in the second scene and select “Properties”. Here, you can adjust settings specific to this scene, such as position and scaling. Make sure to save your changes.

7. Add Switch Source: To switch between the two scenes during recording, you need to add a “Switch Source” button. Click on the “+” button under the “Sources” panel and select “Button”. In the “Button” properties, choose “Switch Scene” as the action and select the second scene you created.

8. Start Recording: With everything set up, you can now start recording. Click on the “Start Recording” button in OBS. To switch between the two scenes, simply click on the “Switch Source” button you added in step 7.

9. Monitor and Adjust: During recording, keep an eye on both scenes to ensure everything is working correctly. If needed, you can adjust settings or switch scenes on the fly.

10. Stop Recording and Export: Once you are done recording, click on the “Stop Recording” button in OBS. You can now export your video by clicking on the “File” menu and selecting “Export Recording”.
